Radius comes from the acronym Remote Access Dial in User Service. It is a client-server AAA protocol (authentication, authorization and accounting) that is responsible for managing user access to networks through a NAS device.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In the authentication and authorization process, the user, making use of the assigned credentials (username and password), sends a request to access the network to the NAS device, and this in turn requests access to the Radius server.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Radius server is in charge of verifying that the information of the user who tries to access the network is correct. If the request is valid, the server completes the authentication and sends the required authorization information to the client. If the request is invalid, the server sends the authorization error information to the client.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
